7,300 bookings and 3,300 units delivered, RS variant in high demand
Honda Malaysia (HMSB) has reported that they have received nearly 7,300 bookings for the 2023 Honda WR-V as of September 6. This comes just under two months after the small SUV was launched in the local market. So far, they have delivered close to 3,300 units, which is an increase of 1,100 units from the previous month.
The WR-V is available in four different variants: S, E, V, and RS. All variants are equipped with a 1.5-liter naturally-aspirated DOHC i-VTEC engine that produces 121 PS and 145 Nm of torque. The engine is paired with a CVT. The price of the WR-V ranges from RM89,900 to RM107,900 on-the-road without insurance.
According to HMSB, the majority of registrations have been for the RS variant, accounting for 62% of the deliveries. The V variant is the next most popular, making up 19% of the deliveries. The E variant accounts for 13% of the delivery volume, while the base S variant makes up the remaining 6%.
In terms of exterior colors, the most popular choices among customers are Meteoroid Grey Metallic and Ignite Red Metallic, which are almost neck and neck at 25% and 24% respectively. Surprisingly, Stellar Diamond Pearl comes in third place with 22% of the bookings, surpassing Platinum White Pearl at 19%. Crystal Black Pearl is the least popular color, accounting for only 10% of the bookings.
Currently, the waiting period for the WR-V is approximately two months, although this may vary depending on the chosen variant and color. The waiting period for the Stellar Diamond Pearl color is slightly longer.
